“Spring Ruff” By Michael R. Thompson

MY THOUGHTS
From his “Coffee Portal” collection to this Beautiful “Spring Ruff” piece, I have personally had the privilege in watching many of Michael’s pieces come through the window of social media.  “Upland_ish” is his name on Instagram and is where I got to know him.   Each one of his creations lands a special place in the hearts of Uplanders.     His skill and vision sets him apart from the rest.  He is one of my favorite Outdoor Artist around today as I am lucky know know such great talent.
ABOUT RUFFED TROUT STUDIO
Michael Richard Thompson lives in rainy Western Washington with his two labs and two setters. Driven by a passion for all facets of upland bird hunting he most enjoys finding ruffed grouse and inspiration along overgrown logging trails and abandoned homesteads. When not grouse hunting or casting for steelhead he will be in his art studio dreaming about grouse and steelhead while trying to capture moments from the field with graphite, ink, or paint.
Other interests in no particular order include: writing, poetry, photography, wood carving, primitive archery, dog training and casual water fowling.

11.5″ X 9.25″ graphite and charcoal on toned artist paper
